Congratulations to Miss Kirsten Hamilton being voted our 2019-2020 Homecoming Queen. In addition to the presentation of the homecoming court, the Alumni teams defeated the Varsity teams and the Junior class won the annual spirit week poster contest.
A great tradition at GCS is starting the year at a retreat to better get to know each other as well as to be challenged from the Word of God. This year was no exception as students enjoyed swimming, canoeing, zip-lining, blobbing, volleyball and many other activities. For the first time, we had a half-dozen girls brave the heights of the upper ropes course. With their heart racing, they crossed ropes 40 feet over the ground before swinging safely back to the ground.
The first day of school can bring mixed emotions to students returning to school. Although happy to see friends they haven't seen over the summer, they also wish the summer extended a few more weeks. New to GCS this year is Mrs. Ashley Abbott, teaching 3rd grade. We are looking forward to a great school year as GCS celebrates our 45th year in Christian education.

Congratulations to the newest members of the AACS Honor Society. The new members were recognized in chapel after which they and their parents enjoyed lunch at Grecian Gardens.
Many hours of hardwork, practice, and instruction went into the performances at Fine Arts. Among the many categories was preaching, singing, acting, academic testing, and instrumental competitions. The students are excited to now compete on the national stage in Greenville in a few weeks.
Congratulations to all of our winners in this year's Science Fair. Many hours of hard work by our students went into their projects. We look forward to seeing the winners compete at the Fine Arts Festival in a few weeks.
Congratulations to Miss Kelly Brooks on being crowned the 2016-2017 Homecoming Queen. The Homecoming Court consisted of Micah Morgan (9th), Valarey Zimmerman (10th), and Alexis Darden (11th).
On the court, both the JV and Varsity teams defeated the Orangeburg Patriots. The Homecoming poster competition was won by the ninth grade class.
This past Tuesday evening, our students performed in our annual Christmas program. From K-3 to 12th grade, it was a wonderful time of music that reminded us of the true miracle of the Christmas season.
A fun night for "kids" of all ages. Activities included horse rides, bounce houses, silent auctions, dunk tank, climbing wall, and board game themed games. Each class was able to decorate their booth to a theme of a different board game--from Life to Battleship. All proceeds from the evening went towards installing more security features at GCS.
