Where: Camp Longridge in Ridgeway, SC
A great tradition at GCS is starting the year at a retreat to better get to know each other as well as to be challenged from the Word of God. This year’s retreat will be at Camp Longridge in Ridgeway, SC. Students will enjoy many activities such as swimming, canoeing, zip-lining, blobbing, volleyball and many others. Our speaker this year is Pastor Zach Phillips from Lakeside Baptist Church in Beech Island, SC.

Grace Early Learning Center:
One of the great things about Grace is the ability for children to be apart of our GCS family in our infant through two year old program. Historically, Grace Daycare has been a place of love and growth for many children throughout the year. Recently, we made the decision to rebrand our daycare as Grace Early Learning Center. We believe this change will continue to help families see the great opportunities here at Grace for their children to grow in a Christ-honoring atmosphere.

Thursday 9/1: Corndog, Black Eye Peas, Mac & Cheese, Peaches
Friday 9/2: Chili Cheese Nachos, Corn, Mandarin Oranges

Tuesday 9/6: Chicken Nuggets, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Green Peas, Ice Cream
Have you heard about the GCS Athletic Booster Club yet?
In the middle of last year, a group of dedicated parents and faculty joined forces to form the official GCS Lions Booster Club to support the Athletic program here at Grace Christian School. The booster club comes alongside the current Athletic program to assist from a financial and volunteer perspective to improve the overall athletic program here at GCS.
The booster club is currently raising money through home game ticket sales and concession sales. The booster club is also offering an opportunity for those to purchase a membership into the booster club that starts at $250 for the entire year. We are always looking for new volunteers to assist at the gate and concessions during home games. Be sure to email booster@gcslions.com to let us know you if you are interested in volunteering or to sign up for the booster club membership.
We have so many new faces around GCS this year! Each week for the next few newsletters, we will highlight both a new staff member and a returning staff member to help all of us get to know each other better.
Kris Pfaehler | Mr. Pfaehler has served at Grace Christian School for 25 years. He has taught science, PE, and Bible classes throughout his time here at Grace. Currently, Mr. Pfaehler serves as our Athletic Director and also teacher our high school science classes. Mr. Pfaehler served our country in the US Army and our community as an EMT before coming to Grace. He continues to serve our community as a reserve deputy for the Lexington County Sheriff’s department. We are thankful for his many years of service to our country, our community, and Grace Christian School.
Bethany Levister | Mrs. Levister has joined our staff this year as our Enrollment Secretary. She comes to us with years of experience working in many facets of her family’s business in the Rock Hill area. She will be handling the transition of students into GCS whether they are coming to us to start their education or transitioning to us from another school system. We are excited to have her and her children a part of our GCS family.
