A great tradition at GCS is starting the year at a retreat to better get to know each other as well as to be challenged from the Word of God. This year was no exception as students enjoyed swimming, canoeing, zip-lining, blobbing, volleyball and many other activities. For the first time, we had a half-dozen girls brave the heights of the upper ropes course. With their heart racing, they crossed ropes 40 feet over the ground before swinging safely back to the ground.
Our speaker this year is a student favorite: Nathan Brackett of Gantt Street Baptist Church. Challenging our students from the life of Daniel, we had many decisions as well as several salvation decisions.
Although tired, the students are already looking forward to next year’s retreat.
