Exciting Updates!
As we kick-off the 2022-23 school year here at GCS, we want to introduce an exciting new update! Since 1973, our goal has been to help students develop faith in Jesus Christ. Whether in the classroom, on the athletic field, or on the stage, we strive for a standard of excellence that will be pleasing to the Lord. The Grace Christian School Crest has been created to represent the multi-faceted program that GCS implements to accomplish this standard of excellence in the lives of our students. The Crest will be used as a representative of our academic excellence in print form and the shield component of the Crest will be used as part of a new logo on future school uniform purchases from Land’s End. The current GCS uniforms with the Lion logo will still be allowed to be worn as well. The current GCS Lion logo is being transitioned in focus to the athletic areas of GCS.
August 1-5: 7th-12th grade boys’ soccer tryouts and practices; 8:30am-11:30am
August 8-9: 7th-12th grade girls’ volleyball practices; 3:30-5:30pm
August 11: Back to School Night – ALL students! 4:00-8:00pm (Drop-in)
(A mandatory parent meeting for 7th-12th graders participating in sports will also be held at 5:15pm on Back to School Night)
August 12: Alumni Soccer and Volleyball Games
(Alumni mens’ soccer – 6:30pm; Alumni women’s volleyball – 7:45pm)
August 15: First day of school!
Back-to-School Night!
Back to School Night is scheduled for Thursday, August, 11. Drop-in between the hours of 4:00-8:00pm. This year, start Back to School Night with a visit to the gym to pick up your FREE Spirit Shirt and special treat, meet new families, and see our exciting gym updates! Visit your classrooms, meet your teachers, and drop off your school supplies before you leave for the evening. Current GCS students and parents will be available at Back to School Night to give our new families a warm welcome and to help them find their student’s classrooms.
MySchoolWorx is being used school-wide!
In the past, GCS has primarily used the MySchoolWorx platform in grades 1-12 as our academic grading platform. This year we are expanding our use of MySchoolWorx to include the digital school calendar, online payment and account information for daycare-12th grade, and lunch ordering for grades K5-12. (More information on lunch ordering instructions coming soon!) Kindergarten families who have never previously received a MySchoolWorx login for an older sibling were sent an email last week containing login instructions. New families would have set up their login information when they completed online enrollment. If you need a reminder of your login information, or, if you are having trouble with login, please email joymartin@gracelions.com. Below is a picture of the MySchoolWorx login portal screen.
Online Payment Now Available!
An option is now available through your My School Worx account to pay your tuition and fees online! Login to MySchoolWorx and click the Account tab to view your invoice and pay online. August tuition will be billed on August 1. Payments can still be made by cash or check in the GCS Offices.
(ACH forms are also still available in the school office if you would like to set up automatic payments from your bank.)

Supply Lists
K3-K5
Kindergarten families: we have an exciting change to your school supplies for the 2022-23 school year! This year, we are asking K3-K5 families to conveniently purchase School Supply Packets directly through the GCS office. Packets will be billed to your MySchoolWorx account with your August 1 tuition and can be paid for online or in the school office. Your student’s school supplies will be in their classroom and ready to go for the first day of school!
1st-12th Grade
The 1st-12th grade 2022-23 Supply Lists can be found online by clicking here. This website contains options for purchasing your school supplies at various retailers.
A pdf version of the 2022-23 Supply List has also been sent out through Remind.
School Uniforms
Don’t forget to go ahead and order your school uniforms from Landsend.com for students in grades 1-12. We will also be having a GCS Used Uniform Sale on Friday and Saturday, July 22 and 23. We would love to see you there! This is our first used uniform sale so it is will definitely be a test run for us. Contact elementary@gracelions.com to reserve a table to sell your child’s uniforms. There is also a Facebook group available to buy and sell used GCS uniforms. The name of that Facebook group is “GCS uniforms Buy, Sell, Free”.
Immunizations
All GCS students must have a current South Carolina immunization certificate, or a South Carolina Religious Exemption form on file with the school office by the first day of school, August 15, 2022. A list of updates to the requirements for the 2022-23 school year can be found here.
Private music lessons are available on-campus for band and string instruments, and piano. For more information, and to sign up for these lessons, please contact Miss Renee Fleming at rfleming@gracelions.com.
Soccer and Volleyball
The 7th-12th grade soccer and volleyball seasons are approaching quickly! Make sure your student has an up-to-date sports physical form by the first practices. Sports physical forms expire after one year and an appointment will need to be scheduled with your child’s physician. A copy of the sports physical form can be found under the athletics tab at www.gracelions.com or by clicking here.
Mandatory Athletic Parent Meeting
A mandatory parent meeting will also be held on Back to School Night, August 11 at 5:15pm for any parents who will have a 7th-12th grade student participating in sports during the 2022-23 school year.
Alumni Games
The annual GCS Alumni Soccer and Volleyball games will be held on Friday, August 12. The mens’ alumni soccer game will begin at 6:30pm and the ladies’ alumni volleyball game at 7:45pm. All families are invited to join us for a fun-filled evening!
Gym Updates
This summer, the GCS gym was under constant work and renovation! New bleachers were installed on both sides of the gym that contain dedicated walking aisles with sturdy handrails. New basketball goals were also installed. A huge “Thank You” to those who gave time, funds, and work to this much needed project! Enjoy some pictures of some of these updates.
