Meet our NEW and Transitioning Teachers and Staff!
We have many new faces around campus this school year! We also have some not-so-new faces transitioning to different roles.
Mrs. Alana Phillips, Mrs. Tara Anthony, and Mrs. Lindsey Cunningham have joined the Early Learning Center.
Miss Bailey Goforth will be teaching 1st grade.
Miss Makenzie Case will be our new 3rd grade teacher.
Mrs. Terri Colwell and Mrs. Charlotte Edwards will be team teaching 4th and 5th grades.
Mrs. Jena Sherban will be teaching Speech and working as the Elementary Librarian in addition to her role at Hope Christian Academy.
Mrs. Daye Goforth will be working with the choirs in Middle and High School as well as developing the Fine Arts program.
Mrs. Kristen Hanna will be joining the kitchen staff as well as teaching Girls PE and Mock Trial.
Mrs. Deb Flowers has joined GCS as the Assistant to the Administrator.

Only one email address per family can be linked to the QuickBooks program we are using through MySchoolWorx. If the email address you are using at login is not allowing you to see your statement or pay your account, try logging in with your spouses email username. Also, payments can not be made through the MySchoolWorx app at this time. Payments must be made on the website at portal.myschoolworx.com.
Immunizations
All GCS students must have a current South Carolina immunization certificate, or a South Carolina Religious Exemption form on file with the school office by the first day of school, August 21, 2023. A list of updates to the requirements for the 2023-24 school year can be found here.
Soccer and Volleyball
The 6th-12th grade soccer and volleyball seasons are underway! Make sure your student has an up-to-date sports physical form by the first practice. Sports physical forms expire after one year and an appointment will need to be scheduled with your child’s physician. A copy of the sports physical form can be picked up in High School Office.
Mandatory Athletic Parent Meeting
A mandatory parent meeting will also be held on Back to School Night, August 17 at 7:00 pm in the Hanson Chapel. This meeting is for parents of students 6th – 12th grade participating in Fall Athletics for the 2023 – 2024 school year.
Alumni Games
The annual GCS Alumni Soccer and Volleyball games will be held on Friday, August 18. The mens’ alumni soccer game will begin at 6:30 pm and the ladies’ alumni volleyball game at 7:45 pm. All families are invited to join us for a fun-filled evening!
