Friday Newsletter | November 18, 2022

We have had a great year so far and are thankful for all the competent office staff the Lord has provided. Beginning the week after Thanksgiving, we will be shifting some office responsibilities around and want our GCS family to be aware. Mrs. Levister will be transitioning from the enrollment secretary to the high school office, and Miss Smith will be taking Mrs. Levister’s responsibility as enrollment secretary. Both ladies have been doing a tremendous job, and we think they will continue to excel in these new responsibilities.

Check out this year’s Christmas Gift Box fundraiser for our Senior Class! These carefully curated boxes serve as a wonderful gift for neighbors, friends, or family. Your support will help the GCS Class of 2023 raise funds for their Senior Trip at the end of the year!

We have so many new faces around GCS this year! Each week for the next few newsletters, we will highlight both a new staff member and a returning staff member to help all of us get to know each other better.

Brandon Cox | Mr. Cox has been teaching at Grace Christian School since 2000. His main responsibilities include teaching Jr. & Sr. High computer class, statistics, and Media Productions. A fun fact about Mr. Cox is that he is a GCS graduate. When not teaching or working IT, Mr. Cox enjoys any handiwork including creating elaborate bulletin boards. Mr. Cox and his wife are expecting their first son very soon. Pray for the Cox’s as they prepare to welcome this new little one.

Alicia Keown | Mrs. Keown has taught at Grace Christian School since 2014. She has filled many teacher roles in our elementary school. This year, Mrs. Keown teaches one of our 2nd grade classes. All would say Mrs. Keown is lots of fun and always positive. During her free time, Mrs. Keown enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 dogs, hanging out with friends, and attending music performances.

Lisa Bushy | Mrs. Bushy has been at Grace since 2008. After graduating from Pensacola Christian College, she and her husband ministered at another Christian school in Georgia. During the summer of 2008, their family moved to South Carolina. Mrs. Bushy currently teaches one of our K3 classes. When not teaching or being a mom to her 4 children, Mrs. Bushy runs her own cake baking business.

Charlotte Edwards | Mrs. Edwards has taught at GCS since 2020, and she and her husband are both teachers here. Mrs. Edwards has many years of experience teaching all over the country in various Christian schools. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren! Mrs. Edwards also loves to crochet and cook with her husband.
